Semen Sales
Artificial Insemination is a valueable tool in breeding livestock. Several of our best animals are either AI products or have parents that are. Getting a good return from your investment in frozen semen depends on several aspects: your ability to detect a doe in heat, time the breeding, and use a proper technique, along with the ability of the person who processed the semen to provide you with the best semen possible. A processor is limited by the quality of semen produced by the buck being collected, but we have to believe that the processor will do what is possible to get the best semen in the straw, or not process it at all. A high standard is needed to give you the best chance at success.
After years of sub standard results, we started using semen almost entirely processed by Don and Teresa Wade of Biogenics LTD. With a little guidance on technique from Teresa, I now have yearly conception rates between 80-100%. I have little doubt that Biogenics LTD's high standards have helped to make this possible.
I would also like to share a little of our history together. Teresa and I started our friendship in 2002 at the national show in Pueblo, Colorado. She sold her herd the following year, and by 2004 I was in desperate need of someone to help me show at the Nationals. Teresa offered her help and has been my handler ever since. But the real key to this story is that for the first several years of Teresa helping me, I had my bucks collected, and marketed with one of her competitors. She handled several daughters of these marketed bucks, with nothing to gain, yet always tried her best. I think that when someone helps you and has nothing to gain from it personally, but just wants to see you succeed, then that is when you know you have found a person with a good heart, and a friend. I think that if you choose Biogenics LTD as your processor you will get that same type of dedication in the work that is performed. She is already taken as a handler, but I do highly recommend her as a processor! This is why we don't require, but highly desire that any Risin' Creek bucks purchased that we want semen back on are collected by Biogenics LTD. We want semen that works!
